QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school graduate or equivalent required. Some college preferred.
• One year in medical office preferred.
• Previous customer service and excellent communication skills required.
• Ability to perform well under pressure, processing repetitive work with frequent interruptions.
• Ability to manage individuals who are experiencing a medical emergency with grace.
• Ability to work alone with minimal supervision.
• Flexible schedule and last-minute availability required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Must maintain certification in Basic Life Support (CPR).
• Must maintain an acceptable level of customer satisfaction.
• Accurate registration of patients presenting for services by obtaining proper signatures, insurance information, and demographics, copies insurance cards, completes and routes proper forms.
• Operates a console telephone switchboard in order to relay incoming calls to the proper department.
• Page physicians and authorized personnel over the intercom system as well as short range, long range, and alpha pagers.
• Must be able to work in a professional manner across departments including with clinical staff.
