Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Registered Nurse, State of Illinois
• Licensed Advance Practice Nurse, State of Illinois
• Certification from Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
• Current BCLS, ALCS
• Knowledge/expertise of principles of anesthesia to provide anesthesia to all age groups
• Knowledge of regulatory, licensing and accrediting agency guidelines
• Excellent human relation/communication skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Requests and Receives Privileges to practice anesthesia by the Medical Staff. 
• Provide anesthesia for elective/emergency surgical procedures
• Perform epidurals and intrathecals
• Complete pre-anesthesia evaluation
• Provides Intra-operative and Post-anesthesia care
• Participate in development of anesthesia plan of care
• Maintain equipment and supplies adequately to perform job
• Assist in development of anesthesia policies and procedures
• Participate in education programs
• Provide pain management post-operatively
• Provides airway management when requested.
• Abides by the Medical Staff By Laws and Rules and Regulations and hospital policies

Hours: Department hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm Alternating weekend call coverage required
