CHARGE NURSE-Registered Nurse, State of Illinois, BSN or national nursing certification preferred. Minimum of 2 years Med/Surg/Peds experience. Excellent human relations/communication skills, judgment and critical thinking skills. RESPONSIBILITIES: Understands the health care environment, patient/employee rights and related legal implications. Responsible for administrative decisions, policy interpretation & compliance in the absence of the Director. Serves as a resource to unit personnel in clinical problem solving. Supervises & coordinates nursing activities to ensure patient care,staff relations and efficiency of service. Supervisory experience and/or critical care emergency nursing recommended

| RN- IL RN licensure. Maintain current certifications in Basic Life Support. One yr of clinical experience as a rn is preferred. Must possess good human relations/communications skills; application of nursing process; critical thinking/judgment making skills. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge/skills necessary to provide the care appropriate to age of the patients served on assigned unit. Able to work competently under stress & exercise independent judgment in emergency situations. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth & development over the life span & possess the ability to assess data reflective of the Patient’s status in addition to being able to interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the general direction of the Charge Nurse,
the RN implements the nursing process for patients in the Hospital. Notifies
Charge Nurse & physician of patient’s change of condition. Prepares
equipment & assists physician during treatments & examinations of
patients. Provides nursing care in various clinical services such as medical,
pre-& post surgical, pediatrics, & rehabilitation.

| CNA-High school diploma or equivalent.Current State of Illinois CNA certificate. CPR required. Under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, performs any combination of the following tasks in provision of care for patients in Hospital personal hygiene to include bathing, measuring, & record intake & output: taking & recording temperature, pulse & respiration rate: carrying in meal trays to patients & feeding patients who are unable to feed themselves: lifting patients on to & from beds: transporting patients to other areas by bed, wheelchair or wheeled stretcher. Transports patients to operating & x-ray rooms as requested. Makes beds & collects soiled linens. Cares for deceased patients & places personal belongings in designated safekeeping. |
