Kewanee Hospital is pleased to announce the addition of orthopaedic clinic and surgical care for Kewanee and the surrounding communities. Great Plains Orthopaedic will be providing service at Kewanee Hospital beginning in July.
Kewanee Hospital Medical Staff, board members and employees had the opportunity to meet the physicians from Great Plains Orthopaedic who will be providing care at Kewanee Hospital, Drs. Piero Capecci, James Maxey, and Mary Elizabeth Rashid, during a morning meet and greet on June 18th.
Dr. Capecci specializes in shoulder, hip and knee-replacement and revision. Dr. Maxey specializes in fracture care, hip fracture repair, and orthopaedic trauma surgery. Dr. Rashid specializes in hand and upper extremity injuries and wrist instability microsurgical techniques. Dr. Below specializes in sports medicine, shoulder and knee arthroscopic surgery, joint reconstruction, and foot and ankle surgery.
The physicians will conduct clinic and perform surgery at Kewanee Hospital beginning in July. The Great Plains Orthopaedic surgeons will work cooperatively with patients’ primary care providers on treatment plans. Patients can schedule appointments directly or through a referral from their provider.
